The Director General of Customs participated in the 3rd Trade Facilitation Seminar in Korea.

The Director General of Comorian Customs, Mr. SOUEF KAMALIDINI, participated in the Third Seminar on Facilitation of Exchange for all Directors General of Customs of African Countries held from May 29 to June 1, 2018 in South Korea.

Accompanied by the Head of External Relations of the Cooperation Department of the General Directorate of Customs, Mrs. DJAMILA RADJABOU, the mission of the Director General had three main objectives. The first was to participate in the seminar quoted above, followed by the presentation of the case of Comoros in terms of Trade Facilitation and promotion of the country and finally reiterate the invitation to the Directors General of African Customs forthe next meeting of the Sub-Committee of Directors General of Customs of the African Union which is going to be held in Moroni from 17 to 21 September 2018.

Beside Comoros, The seminar have seen the presence of several African countries, including Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Egypt, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan and South Africa. The flow of the seminar was full of bilateral meetings between each country which was present and the Korean Customs Service, presentations, discussions and exchanges of experience on themes as well as excursions. On these two topics discussed, namely, "Customs and the 4th Industrial Revolution" and "Sharing Experience in Trade Facilitation"; Sudan, Malawi, Uganda, Comoros and the Republic of Mauritius presented their case and give a deep insight about it.

WCO participates in the graduation ceremony of the Belgian Customs School

On 28 June 2022, at the invitation of the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in charge of the Coordination of the Fight against Fraud, Mr. Van Peteghem, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, took part in the graduation ceremony of the 50th session of the Belgian Customs School. The ceremony marked the end of 10 months of theoretical and practical training in core Customs matters provided by the Belgian Customs School and complemented by the WCO.
